about
You're a human being with thoughts, feelings and ideas. Write something! Fiction or non, poetry or prose, Scrawl is a shared creative outlet and a place to call something finished.
FAQ
How does it work?
On the first of each month, we share a theme on the "Submit" page. Submissions are open through the end of the month, and then the issue is published to the website.
How important is the theme?
Your submission's connection to the theme can be as tight or tenuous as you like.
I'm shy.
There are no like buttons or comment sections. If you don't wish to be credited, you may write "anonymous" for your name in the submission form. The form makes you submit an email address to send you a confirmation, but we won't be able to see your email address.
I don't have the time.
Fair enough. The last thing we want is for Scrawl to be a chore; hence the title. It doesn't have to be your darkest, most personal work (though feel free). Send us a haiku you wrote on your lunch break.
Any content restrictions?
It is possible we would turn something down for graphic violence, sex, or hate. We might explore throwing a "mature" notification at the top of a piece. If you have questions or complaints, or if your submission didn't post, shoot us an email at the address below.
Can I submit more than one piece per month?
Yes.
Which file types do you accept?
We should be able to accommodate any text file.
What if I catch a spelling error?
We publish everything the way it was submitted, but you're welcome to email us requests to fix grammar and spelling.
How I can be notified of new issues?
We don't want to add more emails to your inbox, so the best way to stay updated is our Instagram.
